   WILLIAM SAMUEL ‘SAM’ BRAZIEL

	William Samuel ‘Sam’ Braziel entered into 
eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at NHC 
Healthcare of Ft. Saunders in Knoxville, after a 
courageous battle with cancer.
	He was born on July 14, 1945, to the late 
Clifford William Braziel and Mary Margaret Braziel.
	He was preceded in death by his brother, 
James E. Braziel.
	Sam was a graduate of West High School 
in Morristown, Tennessee, and attended Knoxville 
and Morristown Colleges.  He was a well-known 
Interior Decorator in the Lakeway area for over 40 
years as an employee for Draperies by Jane; Judi’s 
Interiors and in the later years was self-employed.
	He was devoted to being involved in the 
Morristown community and will be remembered for 
his work as coach and former president of the 
Lakeway Area Football Association, Tee To Green 
Golf Association, and president of the Reunion of 
the Ages for the Morristown area.
	He leaves to cherish his memory a 
devoted wife, Charon Griffin Braziel; daughters 
Rhonia Braziel and Shannon Braziel of Chattanooga, 
TN; sons, Paul (Jennifer) Griffin of Knoxville, TN, and 
Hunter Wilder of Morristown, TN; sister, Mary Sue 
Davis of Morristown, TN; brother, Tyrone (Linda) 
Braziel of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Erica Moore, 
Nariah Griffin, and Kenner Griffin of Knoxville, TN; 
mother-in-law, Loraine Coleman of Knoxville, 
brothers-in-law, Sheen (Gwen) Griffin of Rochester, 
NY, Johnny Griffin, of Ohio, Willie (Katie) Long of 
Ohio, Stewart Griffin, of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, 
Frances Jordan of Rochester, NY, nieces, Leslie 
Gatewood and Wykisha Braziel of Charlotte, NC; 
nephew, Eric B. Davis of Morristown, TN; devoted 
special friend Virginia C. Braziel of Morristown, TN 
and a host of other family members and life long 
friends.
	The family will receive friends on 
Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 12 noon until 2:00 
p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at 
the First Presbyterian Church of Morristown at 600 
W. Main Street, Morristown.  Entombment will be in 
the Hamblen Memory Gardens following the funeral 
service.
